Itinéraire Scène française - Paris Gallery Weekend 2026

Visual Arts / Photography

  • 11 international curators
  • 3 organizers: Cnap, CPGA, Institut français
  • 4 days of visits to galleries, artists' studios, and meetings with professionals from the French scene

As part of a new, broader program entitled "Parcours Scène française", designed to enhance the presence and international accompaniment of French artists in major international contemporary art networks, the Itinéraire Scène française offers a series of visits to a dozen international curators during Paris Gallery Weekend.

It is part of the implementation of the plan to strengthen the French art scene presented in October 2025 by the Ministry of Culture.

The Institut français, the Centre national des arts plastiques (Cnap), and the Comité professionnel des galeries d'art (CPGA)have pooled their respective expertise to strengthen the support and visibility of French visual artists within the major international contemporary art networks, drawing on the diplomatic network, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.

Program

L'Itinéraire Scène française (May 27 - 30, 2026) offers a program of meetings and visits, on the occasion of the thirteenth edition of the Paris Gallery Weekend, an annual event steered by the Comité professionnel des galeries d'art (CPGA), to a selection of invited international professionals (curators, directors of private foundations and institutions), chosen with the cultural network abroad.

This program includes one-on-one meetings with artists supported by Cnap, studio visits organized by the French Institute, as well as visits to galleries participating in the Paris Gallery Weekend. These initiatives offer guest curators a panoramic view of the diversity and vitality of the French art scene.

A highlight is devoted to itinerant projects: bringing together networks of institutions, curators and distribution structures, it enables exhibition projects to be presented and collaborations to be initiated with a view to future international co-productions.

The French Scene Itinerary has a clear ambition: to introduce the vitality of the French art scene to international professionals in order to develop collaborations around the world.
