French language seminar

French language

Every year, the Institut français organizes a “French language” seminar at its premises, bringing together cultural network agents responsible for educational cooperation and the promotion of French around the world: educational cooperation attachés, French cooperation attachés, educational project managers, directors of language centers and Alliances Françaises, etc.

These seminars, which alternate between plenary sessions and workshops, aim to encourage reflection and the exchange of best practices around a central theme: attracting new audiences, promoting French among young people, and encouraging the teaching of French as a language of employability.

In 2025, the French language seminar evolved

Since 2025, the Institut français has offered two French language seminars per year: one in Paris, which brings together agents from around the world, and a second regional seminar. The first edition took place in May in Yaoundé and brought together agents from 20 African countries.

The second edition of the regional seminar will be held in Warsaw from May 20 to 22, 2026, and will be aimed at agents working in European countries (EU and continental Europe).
The regional seminar differs from the annual seminar in Paris in terms of its central theme and target audience. The seminar is aimed exclusively at educational cooperation attachés and French language cooperation attachés, accompanied by local educational partners: those responsible for language teaching policy at the Ministry of Education, a teacher training center, or a university French language department.
