Games Made in France Satellites: promoting French independent video games internationally
Digital creation
The Institut français and Capital Games are offering the French cultural network abroad and its partners a new "Games Made In France Satellites" support scheme to help organize events promoting French independent video games internationally.
Since 2020, Capital Games, the Île-de-France video game association, has been behind the "Games Made in France" operation, which aims to showcase a selection of French independent video games during an online event on Twitch, doubled with a physical event at Paris Games Week. This highly successful operation demonstrates the interest in French independent video games both in France and internationally.
In 2023, the Institut français and Capital Games are joining forces to offer the French cultural network abroad and its partners the opportunity to roll out "Games Made In France" in their countries, by providing them with a new, tailor-made support scheme: Games Made In France Satellites.
GMIF Satellites aims to facilitate the organization, by the French cultural network abroad and its partners, of online and/or face-to-face events, in close collaboration with Capital Games and its event partner NTWU, accustomed to working with the cultural network, in order to jointly promote and introduce a wide audience to the best of French independent video games internationally.
Renewed every year for the past 3 years, and based on a selection of games built in conjunction with all French regional clusters, Games Made in France has become a fixture on the French video game scene. Every year, the event attracts over a million enthusiastic spectators and generates sales of French games worth nearly 1 million euros.
4 turnkey, scalable support packages for cultural networks
4 support packages with shared responsibility are offered to cultural network establishments, in order to organize a GMIF Satellites event in their country. The tailor-made operations are designed in partnership between the network establishment and its local partners, Capital Games and NTWU.
French video game showcase at a trade show, online event on Twitch hosted by streamers to reach gamer communities, showcasing a panel of games at an international conference, ... GMIF Satellites events can take a variety of online and/or face-to-face forms, and adapt to the needs of the network and its partners, depending on the local context.
