French cultural network's digital facilities
56 multipurpose venues are now equipped with digital tools across the French cultural network abroad. Among them, 21 screening rooms at Instituts françaises and Alliances francaises were digitally updated with the support of the CNC as part of the plan to digitise the cinema facilities of the French cultural network abroad, launched in May 2014 and renewed at Cannes in May 2016 thanks to the signing of agreements between the Ministry of Culture and Communication, the CNC, UniFrance Films and the Institut français. This modernised network dedicated to both French and world cinemas gives the public access to numerous cultural offerings in better and more comfortable viewing conditions.
As part of their partnership signed in Prague in November 2015, the Institut français and Europa Cinemas are assisting these cinemas with programming, through the implementation of a staff management and training system. The aim is to encourage their professionalisation and the development of innovative projects when it comes to their operation and organisation.
