Seasons and highlights

Since 1985, the "Seasons" implemented by the Institut français have brought France into dialogue with over 100 countries.

The Seasons: what is it?

Les Saisons are designed to introduce a wide audience to the cultural diversity of a guest country, and to spread a renewed, creative image of France abroad. In the service of France's cultural diplomacy, they aim to forge lasting links between civil societies, encourage artistic co-productions, and develop cultural, economic and academic exchanges.

Exercises in international cultural cooperation, the Seasons are implemented by the Institut français, the operator of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture for France's foreign cultural policy.
Organized jointly by France and the partner country, and placed under the authority of a single or cross-commissariat, the Saisons and Temps Forts offer a selection of projects in the fields of the arts, culture, education, higher education, cultural and creative industries, the debate of ideas, research, sport, the economy, innovation, or gastronomy.
