Presentation of the Session

In July 1917, in the columns of Le Petit Journal, Albert Londres wrote words that resonate today with the return of war in Europe: “Let those who no longer clearly see the tragic landscape of war because it is too familiar, or because they are too far away, come with me—the journalist. Together, we will see...”

Florence Aubenas, a senior reporter for Le Monde, has covered multiple conflicts. Journalist and literature professor Tetyana Ogarkova is the co-author, along with her husband, of an admirable podcast series titled “Ukraine in the Face of War”. Igor Štiks, who fled besieged Sarajevo at the age of 15, now dedicates himself to research and literature. Each of them, in their own way, has seen war up close. Let us confront it together with them.
